Explosion and Fire Protection on Machines

As a manufacturer of machines, you ensure that your products do not pose a threat to man or the environment. For this, you create hazard assessments for all potential hazards that may occur on your machine. For example, For example, dangerous quantitative limits in order to achieve a certain level of protection, this is not the case with regard to fire and explosion risks.

The European Machinery Directive 2006/42 / EC merely provides that your machine must not be exposed to a fire or explosion hazard. If your machine is intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, the requirements of Directive 2014/34 / EU earlier 94/9 / EC (ATEX) must also be complied with.

Our experience has shown that both the fire protection and the explosion protection for machines should not be considered completely separately. Through an interdisciplinary risk assessment, synergy effects are often achieved with regard to efficiency and profitability.

We support you as a manufacturer in the holistic assessment of the fire and explosion risk of your machines and help you to integrate efficient and economical protective measures - in terms of design, equipment and organization - for the fire and explosion safety of your machine.

We are also happy to assist you with the fire and explosion protection risk assessment for your existing machine as an operator of machines, especially those which have been put into operation before the entry into force of Directive 2006/42 / EC or Directive 94/9 / EC. Here, we create protection concepts that enable you to optimize the safety of people and the environment from an economic point of view.
